The Library's collection of technical reports consists
mainly of documents collected and disseminated by the U.S. Department
of Energy (DOE) from
the mid-1970s to 1997. The collection is located on the 3rd floor of Cooper Library, near the 3rd floor Classroom. The bulk of
this collection
is in microfiche format, and reports are filed by the technical
report number.
In addition to this microfiche collection, the Library
has a number of older technical reports in paper. These reports
are also filed by technical report number, and they are housed
in the shelves
directly
preceding the microfiche reports on the 3rd floor.
Records for these reports are NOT in the Library's
online catalog. Subject
access to this collection is available using two print sources: Government
Reports Announcements (GRA), C 51.9/3: and Energy Research Abstracts
(ERA), E 1.17:. Both are shelved in the Government Documents
Collection on the 3rd floor.
There are also numerous technical reports in the Federal Documents
paper and microfiche collections. These reports are filed
by Superintendent of Documents (SuDocs) number, and many are listed
in the Library's online catalog. Most of these reports are
from agencies performing or sponsoring technical research, such
as NASA, the Department of Defense, the Environmental Protection
Agency or the National Institute of Standards and Technology. As
with other technical reports, these are located on the 3rd floor of Cooper
Library.
It can be difficult to find a particular technical report in our
collection. Check the Finding
Aid for a cross-reference of technical report numbers and SuDocs
numbers for reports available in Cooper Library.
A comprehensive collection of technical reports can be accessed
