Map Resource Area Maps
Joint Operations Graphics contain legend and marginal information in English and various other languages depending on the region covered. These sheets are variously produced by the Defense Mapping Agency Hydrographic/Topographic Center, the Directorate of Military Survey, (Ministry of Defense, United Kingdom), the Surveys and Mapping Branch, Department of Energy, Mines and Resources, (Canada), the Royal Australian Survey Corps and others. These maps are also known as Series 1501, or JOG/G. Relief is shown by contours, gradient tints, and spot heights in meters.
Our library has Joint Operations Graphics of the United Kingdom, Germany, Belgium, The Netherlands, Denmark, France, Italy, Spain, the Canary Islands, Portugal, Madeira Islands and Azores, Senegal, and Norway. Joint Operations Graphics are located in the large, rectangular shelving unit in the Map Resource Area in front of the Government Documents Office.
