PubMed, comprises more than 19 million citations for biomedical articles from MEDLINE and life science journals. Citations may include links to full-text articles from PubMed Central or publisher web sites.

When you search for articles in PubMed, your terms are now automatically “ANDing.” For example: children exercise is searched as children AND exercise.

Exact phrases require quotes around them. For example: “exercise induced asthma”.

On the Where Can I Find page, you can find a link for “Graduate School Admission Exams” and linked it back to the section on the Career Information page that has the Learning Express Library, because this database allows you to take practice GMAT, GRE, LSAT, and MCAT exams.

ATLA Religion Database Improvement

Thursday, September 3rd, 2009

They made the Scriptures Index in the ATLA Religion Database MUCH easier to use! Remember what a hassle it used to be to drill down to one specific Bible passage? (OK, you probably haven’t given it that much thought, but it really was a pain.)

Now you can just:

  • Click on the Scriptures link in the blue bar above the search boxes.
  • Click on the “Expand” link by the name of the book.
  • Click on the “Expand” link by the chapter.
  • Click on the verse you want. This will bring up all references that discuss this verse. (You can limit results by date, source type, etc. using the left and right columns.)

I just know you’ll all want to try this right away. Remember only one person at a time can use this database, so don’t everyone try all at once.

This is SO exciting!
