Library Laurels The laurel wreath has been a symbol of high honor for more than two thousand years. Bestow the library laurels on an outstanding professor and in so doing, make a lasting contribution to the future excellence of Clemson University. When you name a professor to receive this honor and make a contribution of $50 or more to the Clemson University Libraries, the money will be used to purchase books for the library in that professor's field. Bookplates will be placed in the books inscribed with your name and the name of the professor receiving the honor.
