Microfilming
Your Records
The Records Management office provides an on-campus
microfilming service to university departments. Microfilm offers an
alternative storage medium to paper records and is recommended for records
series which must be retained permanently. Certified microfilm records
are acceptable in court as evidence and, when stored properly, will
maintain their image legibility indefinitely. Despite the advent of
optical and other document management systems, security microfilm is
still the generally preferred medium for archival records storage.
(includes fee schedule)
