Storing Your RecordsIf you don't have space in your office to store your inactive records, they can be stored in the Records Center. Currently the Records Center can provide storage for over 4700 boxes of records. For us to maintain proper control of your records, please follow the guidelines listed below when sending your boxes for storage or destruction. | ACCESSING
YOUR RECORDS When you store records in the Records Center you still maintain control over them. If you need information from a box, send us a Reference Request form. No one outside of your office will have access to your records without your authorization. |
| DISPOSITION
OF RECORDS Staff in the Records Center will monitor stored boxes until they are due for disposition. No records will be destroyed or sent to the archives for permanent retention unless authorized by the controlling office. |
| STORAGE
CHARGES The cost for storing records in the Records Center is $2.40/box/year (.20¢/box/month). You are only charged for the months that your boxes are stored. Bills are mailed in February for the previous calendar year. |
