The Life Sciences Search Engine
Integrated, text-based search and retrieval system used at NCBI (National Center for Biotechnology Information) for the major databases, including PubMed, Nucleotide and Protein Sequences, Protein Structures, Complete Genomes, Taxonomy, OMIM (Online Mendelian Inheritance in Man), and others.

Biological Macromolecule Crystallization Database (BMCD)

Contains crystal data and the crystallization conditions, which have been compiled from literature. The current version of the BMCD includes 5,247 crystal entries from macromolecules for which diffraction quality crystals have been obtained. These include proteins, protein:protein complexes, nucleic acid, nucleic acid:nucleic acid complexes, protein:nucleic acid complexes, and viruses.

BRENDA
(The Comprehensive Enzyme Information System)
Find information on enzyme nomenclature, reaction & specificity, functional parameters, organism-related information, structure, isolation & preparation, stability, and more. Free for academic users.

List of Genetics Databases from the National Office of Public Health Genomics   Alphabetical listing of freely available databases containing genetic information.

Gene Gateway   Collection of guides and tutorials for researching genetic disorders, chromosomes, genome maps, genes, sequence data, genetic variants, and molecular structures (A special feature of the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Human Genome Project Information Web site )

Landolt-Börnstein

Systematic collection of critically assessed numerical data and functional relationships in physics, physical chemistry, biophysics, geophysics, astronomy, materials science, and technology.

Group VII Biophysics contains information on nucleic acids (crystallography, spectroscopic, kinetic & structural data) and proteins (structural & physical data)

Use the Substance/Property index to search for information, browse the Subject Index , or browse through Group VII Biophysics to find information on nucleotides and proteins.

RCSB Protein Data Bank (PDB), An Information Portal to Biological Macromolecular Structures   Provides a variety of tools and resources for studying the structures of biological macromolecules and their relationships to sequence, function, and disease. Supported by funds from multiple government agencies, including the National Science Foundation (NSF).

The RCSB is a member of the wwPDB (Worldwide Protein Databank) whose mission is to ensure that the PDB archive remains an international resource with uniform data.

Thermodynamics of Enzyme-Catalyzed Reactions Database

Contains thermodynamic data on enzyme-catalyzed reactions that have been recently published in the Journal of Physical and Chemical Reference Data (JPCRD). For each reaction the following information is provided: the reference for the data, the reaction studied, the name of the enzyme used and its Enzyme Commission number, the method of measurement, the data and an evaluation thereof.
