KnowItAll Informatics System (Biorad)

Spectral data ( 1H NMR, XNMR, IR, MS, and Raman, including Sadtler data).
Available only on Cooper Library Reference Database station.

SciFinder Scholar (Includes Chemical Abstracts (CAplus), Medline, CAS REGISTRY, CASREACT, CHEMLIST and CHEMCAT)

Spectra ( 1H NMR, 13C NMR, IR, MS, Raman) available for many compounds under “Experimental Properties”. For some compounds, links to actual spectra will not be available, but “see full text” will be noted. In this case, the actual reference (journal paper, etc.) will need to be found.

Not available off-campus; click here to download SciFinder Scholar on your computer;

(limited to 4 simultaneous users)

Online Resources:

Properties of Organic Compounds (part of CHEMnetBASE, CRC Press)

Database containing over 29,000 of the most commonly sought organic compounds, featuring physical data, spectral data, and structures. Acts as an easy-to-use tool for identifying unknown compounds or for locating additional data and references for a known compound.

A free plug-in is required for structure searching.

(limited to 1 simultaneous user)

NIST Chemistry WebBook

Includes IR, MS, GC, and UV/Vis data and more from the U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST)

Sigma-Aldrich Catalog

Spectra ( 1H NMR, IR, Raman) available under “Related Information” for many products

Spectral Database for Organic Compounds (SDBS)

Spectral data ( 1H NMR, 13C NMR , IR, MS, Raman, and ESR) from Japan’s National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST)

Sadtler Standard Spectra

1H NMR and IR (organic, inorganic, organometallic, monomers and polymers, and surface active agents) spectra, as well as UV-Vis (dyes), fluorescence spectra, and DTA (polymers & related products) thermograms.

Cumulative indexes and all non-NMR spectral volumes are in Cooper Library - QD 95 .S18 (5th floor).

NMR spectra are in off-campus storage and must be requested through the library catalog (check cumulative indexes to know which volume(s) to request).
