National Park Service Heritage Preservaton Services   the division of the National Park Service that helps identify, evaluate, protect and preserve historic properties
     
National Trust for Historic Preservation
  a private, nonprofit membership organization dedicated to saving historic places and revitalizing America's communities
     
Association for Preservaton Technology   a cross-disciplinary, membership organization dedicated to promoting the best technology for conserving historic structures and their settings
     
Advisory Council on Historic Preservation   an independent federal agency that promotes the preservation, enhancement, and productive use of our nation's historic resources, and advises the President and Congress on national historic preservation policy
     
Alliance for Historic Landscape Preservation   an inter-disciplinary professional organization which is dedicated to the preservation and conservation of historic landscapes in all their variety, from formal gardens and public parks to rural expanses
     
National Council for Preservation Education  

a non-profit educational corporation committed to e ncouraging and assisting in the development and improvement of historic preservation education programs and endeavors in the United States and elsewhere

     
Getty Conservation Institute   an organization that works internationally to advance the field of conservation through scientific research, field projects, education and training, and the dissemination of information in various media

Historic Preservation: A Guide to Resources (UC-Berkeley)   a guide to strategies and resources for students beginning research on the conservation, preservation or restoration of historic buildings, landscapes or cities, with an emphasis on California and the Bay Area
     
PreserveNet   a comprehensive database for preservationists of regularly updated internet resources and current professional opportunities
     
National Register of Historic Places Information System   a database containing information on places listed in or determined eligible for the National Register of Historic Places
     
National Archeological Database   a computerized communications network for the archeological and historic preservation community to improve access to information on archeological activities in the U.S.
     

Built in America: Historic American Buildings Survey/Historic American Engineering Record, 1933-Present

  Library of Congress collections documenting achievements in architecture, engineering, and design in the United States and its territories. Includes digitized images of measured drawings, black-and-white photographs, color transparencies, photo captions, data pages including written histories, and supplemental materials.
     
Historic House Museums in the United States   database searchable by name, geographic location, or date of historic house museums in the U.S.
     
Historic Charleston Foundation   organization dedicated to to preserving and protecting the integrity of Charleston's architectural, historical and cultural heritage
     
National Center for Preservation Technology and Training   National Park Service division that equips preservation professionals with progressive technology-based research and training
     
International Council on Monuments and Sites   an international non-governmental organization of professionals, dedicated to the conservation of the world's historic monuments and sites
     
UNESCO World Heritage Centre   coordinates all matters within the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) related to the identification, protection and preservation of cultural and natural heritage around the world considered to be of outstanding value to humanity
     
Canadian Conservation Institute   promotes the proper care and preservation of Canada's moveable cultural heritage and advances the practice, science, and technology of conservation
     
National Building Museum   museum dedicated to exploring and celebrating architecture, design, engineering, construction, and urban planning
     
English Heritage   organization dedicated to protecting and promoting England's spectacular historic environment and ensuring that its past is researched and understood
     
Recent Past Preservation Network   organization dedicated to building public education and awareness of the recent past (a moving window of approximately fifty years time), specifically, those buildings that are not eligible for the National Register of Historic Places because the structures are less than fifty years old
