Subject: Java City
Suggestion: Is Java City feeding us those nasty Otis Spunkmeyer muffins instead of the good ones we used to get? I really miss the pretzel rolls they used to have. What happened to the food?
Response: Your suggestion was forwarded to the Director responsible for Java City & Snax & Stax. We believe; however, that this has been corrected & JC is now serving items from Palmetto Bakery.
Subject: Lighting
Suggestion: Enter your suggestion/comment here On 1st floor, the corner where the G530's books are located is very dark. Maybe I just needed to find a light switch. Needed a flashlight to see the books. Thanks for consideration.
Response: Thanks for the report. The contractor had the lights down while installing duct. It has now been corrected.

Subject: Noise
Suggestion: I understand the noise from the machines, etc. on the 1st and 2nd floors but the workers should not be telling jokes, gossiping, playing music loudly, as they are. They should remember it's a library and people are studying for tests, so they should minimize the noise just like everyone else.
Response: You are exactly right. The contractor is addressing this issue with the construction crew. Thanks for reporting it!

Subject: Noise (1 of 2)
Suggestion: Thurs night Oct 11 - noise so loud in the computer area on the main floor - gangs of kids - loud, clapping, singing, yelling, stomping, yelling to each other when they finally left - guards sat and watched. what is their job - the guards? Suggestion: guards are reading their computer screen - not keeping gangs of kids quiet. why do guards need computers?
Response: I hope and think that we have resolved this issue. Thanks for the report. Please do feel free to report this to us via the suggestion box or you can speak to the staff directly at the Circulation Desk. They will assist you. Again, thanks.

Subject: Midweek Music
Suggestion: With noisy construction on the 1st and 2nd floors, endless chattering on the 3rd, 4th, and 5th floors, and obnoxious singing and clapping in the lobby, the library may now be the most distracting place to study on campus.
Response: Cooper Library celebrates it’s uniqueness by hosting musical performances in the main lobby for a thirty minute period on a monthly basis. Given that Cooper is open 148 hours of 168 hours total, we feel that 30 minutes during the lunch period is appropriate. We apologize for the inconvenience but feel strongly that library patrons enjoy the brief respite from study and research.

Subject: Placing a hold on a book
Suggestion: Hello, How do I sign up for a waiting list of a book which is due on 11/10/2007? I want the BF 353.5.N37 Please let me know how to proceed. Thank you!
Response: While viewing a record in the online catalog for material checked out, you will notice a button at the top left which says "hold/recall". Select that button and follow the prompts to place a hold/recall on the material. You will also receive an email when the item is ready for pick-up. If you need the material more quickly than the system allows, please consider using Pascal Delivers for a quicker delivery than a hold/recall. You'll notice the Pascal icon at the far right of the screen. Please call me if you need assistance.

Subject: Java City
Suggestion: The long lines have become noticeably longer since the "regular" coffee is now served by the hardworking servers. Please put the coffee machines back on the side counter. Thanks!
Response: Thanks for forwarding Donna's comment from the suggestion box. Java City is very close (this week hopefully) to installing a new display case. They have also ordered another cash module so the staff will be able to use two cashiers instead of one to expedite the flow of service.

Subject: Brave New World
Suggestion: your book catalog tells me there should be two copies of Huxley's book - brave new world - on the shelf (you have more than that but one is checked out)
